Shell Pilot 1.24.1

Fixed in-app updates. Clicking Proceed on an update closed Shell Pilot and nothing was installed.

Cause

The installer ran as a child of the app. Shell Pilot quits right away so its bundle can be replaced, and once it had quit, macOS refused to mount the update disk image for it. The failure was only recorded for the next launch, so nothing was shown.

Fix

• The installer now runs as its own background job, independent of the app, so it finishes after Shell Pilot quits and reopens the new version.
• The update disk image is always unmounted afterwards. Before, a leftover mount stayed attached after every attempt.
• The installer cleans up its temporary files when it finishes.

Updating from 1.24.0 or earlier

Earlier versions still have the old installer, so they can't install this update themselves. Download Shell Pilot 1.24.1 once from shell-pilot.web.app/download, open the disk image and drag Shell Pilot to Applications, replacing the old copy. Updates install in the app from then on.

1.24.1 includes everything in 1.24.0: SSH detection for every session, the remote file browser, transfers, Edit Locally and one-click Reconnect.
